Parking vouchers can be purchased at tobacco shops, banks and from dispensers. Mandatory vignette (sticker) for Austrian autobahns and expressways: Vacationers travelling by car are recommended to buy the 10-day vignette for EUR 7.60 or the 2-month vignette for EUR 21.80. Niederösterreich has many direct international train connections to cities throughout Europe. Fast and comfortable EuroCity and InterCity trains offer perfect and affordable connections. International trains stop in St. Valentine, Amstetten, St. Pölten, Vienna, Wiener Neustadt, Bruck/Leitha and Hohenau. Regional connecting trains and a bus line system throughout the country. Around the clock from over 300 ATM machines (Bankomats) in Niederösterreich with "ec-international" sticker using a bankomat-compatible card and code (ec-cards, customer bank cards) or with credit cards and code (VISA, EUROCARD). Withdrawals up to the limit set on your card. Cash can be gotten at banks (open usually Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. to noon and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.; extensive system of banks throughout the country, e.g. over 600 Raiffeisen branch bank in Niederösterreich) with euro checks and ec-cards and at some machines with credit cards (VISA, EUROCARD) or in the self-service machines in the lobbies of banks with bankomat-compatible cards and code (ec-card, customer bank card).

Stores are generally open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (some closed at midday), Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. VAT refunds: Tourists not residing within the EU are eligible for the refund of VAT on purchases amounting to EUR 75,- and more. Ask in the shop for a TAX FREE refund form. The refund occurs after customs at every border crossing from which travelers leave the EU.
